This is how it works….you scan the checks through this electronic device that transmits the scanned images to the bank for deposit to your account, and then clears the check(s) based on your availability schedule. All you’ll need is a PC, an Internet connection, the check scanner and PREMIER.

How does Remote Deposit benefit my company?

How does it work?
Using the revolutionary image-based technology, Remote Deposit, you submit checks for deposit using a PC and scanning device located at your own business site. Each check scanned for deposit generate an electronic image that is transmitted directly to a central processing center, working its way into the collection stream faster than a paper check and making funds available sooner.
How does Remote Deposit get my money to me faster?
By eliminating the physical transportation of your customers’ checks, PREMIER gets those funds out of float up to two days faster. With Remote Deposit there are no delays from uncontrollable factors, fraudulent checks are identified sooner, and deposits can be anytime.
What is a substitute check?
A paper reproduction of the original checks that:
- Contains an image of the front and back of the original check;
- Bears a MICR line containing all the information appearing on the MICR line of the original check, processing of substitute checks (regulations may contain exceptions);
- Conforms, in paper stock, dimension, and otherwise, with generally applicable industry standards for substitute checks, and
- Is suitable for automated processing in the same manner as the original check.
Who will use the system? And what type of training will be provided for them?
Individuals already in charge of manually preparing and delivering deposits are typically the main users of this automated process. A Remote Deposit training guide will be e-mailed to the company for training purposes.
How late can I make the deposit and still get same day credit?
The cut-off time for same day deposits is 5:00 PM PST.
Can the deposit information on the Remote Deposit software be transferred to my receivables software?
The software stores the deposit information on the hard drive of the computer where the deposit is generated from. Companies have the ability to pull the information from the hard drive and can manipulate the data for the benefit of the company. Some companies have written small executable programs to map the deposit information into their accounts receivable software.
How long does it take to get set up?
Normally it takes about one week for set-up and installation.
How long can I store the history on my computer?
Thru the secure website you can review up to 24 months of deposit history.
What do I do with the check after I make the deposit?
It is recommended that original checks be stored for at least 60 days before destroying.
How would I receive notification of an NSF?
Returns conform to current returns processing with a substitute check being returned in place of the truncated original check to the bank of first deposit. We will notify you of any returns.
Do I pay extra to set up multiple accounts for deposit?
The locations can have as many accounts as they prefer without additional charges. Each location with a scanner would be charged a monthly service fee.
Is the monthly fee passed to the analysis of my account?
Yes, clients will see the charge on the monthly account analysis statement.
What types of checks can be processed through Remote Deposit?
U.S. dollars checks drawn on banks with valid U.S. Routing and Transit numbers are accepted, including personal checks, business checks and postal money orders.
What security controls are provided by Remote Deposit?
Users access rights, depository restrictions, and review criteria levels are controlled within the Remote Deposit Software. Data transmissions from your PC are protected by 128-bit encryption. Additionally, substitute checks are printed with an ID number on watermarked paper, in fully secured and controlled print facilities.
Do I have to change or upgrade my computer system?
NO. It's easy and we're here to help! The minimum system requirements are listed below:

- If used to scan checks, Mac OS X is certified for use only with Panini scanners VisionX and I:Deal; Ethernet-attached Magtek Excella or Excella STX scanner (no drivers are required to be installed on a Mac when using Magtek scanners).
- Recommended minimum is Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard). Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) is the required minimum for Panini scanners.
Note for Mac Users:
We acknowledge that many of the scanner drivers will work in virtual Windows environment, using tools like VMWare’s Fusion and Parallels Desktop. Although many of our customers find they can run scanners successfully in this type of environment, most scanner manufacturers do not certify or support their drivers for use in virtual machines. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that your scanners will work in virtual environments, and any customer support for such environments will be on a best-effort basis.

The stated version numbers are our supported minimums for each browser type. However, we recommend that users continue to update their browsers to the latest versions, using the appropriate mechanisms, to take advantage of security and performance enhancements issued by the browser vendor.
